As a therapist, it is my mission to help my clients transform their lives, both emotionally and practically. Sometimes this will involve examining particular personal beliefs or patterns of behaviour that may no longer be helpful.
Other times it will involve exploring and tapping into the inherent power each of us has within us for healing, for achievement and to live a fulfilled and joyous life. More often than not, it will end up being a combination of the two. Because people generally neither have the time nor the resources to undergo long-term psychotherapy, much of the work I do tends to be solution focused and therefore fairly brief in nature. (A typical client will see me just 6 times.)
This however does not necessarily mean that the approach I use is any less effective than the ones adopted by many therapists who employ some more traditional therapeutic models. like to stay client-focused in my work and, for that reason, the nature of particular sessions may differ greatly one from another, depending on the person concerned or the issue being dealt with.

I am also a certified practitioner of NLP.
I worked on community and group work projects in deprived South African settings. I also counselled for the Gay Advice Bureau in Johannesburg, an erstwhile crisis-intervention help-line. I haven’t, however, been exclusively employed in the helping professions.
Much of my working life has been spent in the worlds of business and the arts, where I gained valuable experience in the creative process, motivation, sales, management and entrepreneurial endeavour.
The creation of something new is not accomplished by the intellect, but by the play-instinct acting from inner necessity. The creative mind plays with the objects it loves.
I am still determined to be cheerful and happy, in whatever situation I may be; for I have also learned from experience that the greater part of our happiness or misery depends upon our dispositions, and not upon our circumstances.
In my practice, I often employ a combination of treatments and techniques. Of course, no two clients are the same and no two people respond to treatment or coaching in exactly the same way. For this reason, I find it is helpful to have a number of effective tools in my toolbox.

Because of this, should you, after our first appointment, choose to end it there and not go on to actually work with me, I shall not charge you for the session we have just had.
